Today’s yoga practice focuses on strengthening the core, the abs and the back! The core, says senior Anusara teacher Desirée Rumbaugh, “is what supports us spiritually in our lives, and physically in our yoga practice. If our core is weak, the ups and downs of life are much harder to take. A strong core makes us more resilient.” This is a warming sequence that will help to tone you, and strengthen you physically and emotionally.
We have some tough crunches, sit ups, scissor kicks and non weight bearing core strengthening postures to start with and then some work on the forearms, in elbow plank and side kneeling elbow plank, cat crunches and downward facing dog crunches. Let me know how your abs and core feel tomorrow!
