Moving Into Stillness Workshop 8pm 23/11/22
This Wednesday evening, 23 November 2022, at 8pm we are looking forward to welcoming you to the yoga studio for 90 minutes of gentle, mindful yoga. Sadly this workshop is now full. But there will be more in the New Year 2023.
Please bring your own yoga mat, 2 blankets, 1 for beneath you, and one for above you. You may also like to wear layers, so that you will be warm and cosy. Feel free to bring an eye mask and a bottle of water. We have bolsters, blocks and belts for you to use. The fire will be lit, and ambient lighting in place… There will be a lot of stillness and gentle movement.
We will start with a settling so that you can start to tune into your breath and notice how your physical body is feeling and to focus on your emotions. Then we will take a Gentle Hatha Yoga practice interspersed with moments of stillness, and culminating in a longer static pose. This is a chance to listen, observe and learn from your body, mind and soul. Our yoga practice concludes with a long, luxurious yoga nidra sleep. This yoga workshop is aimed at maximum rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.
We are searching for:
- Stillness in the physical body.
- Stillness within the breath.
- And stillness in the mind…
When the yoga practice is slower, we move towards becoming present in the moment and are more able to fully absorb our practice. We gradually begin to experience sense withdrawal… leading us into a mindful practice.
