Day 23 Yoga Shoulders Flow
Today’s yoga sequence is a full body yoga flow with an emphasis on strengthening and opening the shoulders. We start grounded for a warm up, before we start a more challenging flow with kneeling warriors and peaking in some downward facing dog variations and dolphins and some beautiful twists.
Our shoulders have a wide range of motion, and so they are more prone to pains, strains, stiffness, and injury. Moving correctly is the key to keeping the shoulders healthy. When movement is compromised, we may experience limited range of motion, tender spots, and other ailments.
Virtually every upper-body exercise involves your shoulder muscles to some extent, so strengthening your shoulders enables you to lift heavier weights for chest and back exercises. If your shoulders are weak, you will be prone to injury.
So today’s yoga practice will help you to keep the shoulders supple, flexible and strong, which will make your yoga postures more accessible and the things you do in life, such as carrying and lifting easier.
