Today's guest blogger is Liz Whitehead, Founder of Mantra Mumma, in Lower Sunbury, Surrey. She discusses how hypnobirthing is worth the investment and how beneficial it was for her. Hypnotherapy can help you have a calm and educated birth experience.
The method of Hypnobirthing Liz teaches is KGHypnobirthing which is accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. It is a full antenatal course spread over 4 classes. In the words of Katherine Graves, ‘Hypnobirthing is logical, simple, practical and very effective; a complete antenatal education. It makes a difference to your experience of giving birth, and gives you the tools to give your baby the best possible start in life.'’
I had hypnobirthing classes for my second child and had a quick and easy birth without pain relief or gas and air. So it comes highly recommended! I wish I'd done it for my first birthing experience, which was too long and too painful!
So if you would like to try it please contact Liz.
How much do you spend on yourself? If you’re anything like me you spend hundreds of pounds on new clothes, getting your hair and nails done, (in my case both!) and enjoying life's little luxuries. If you have a job interview lined up do you buy a new outfit? Invest in a new pair of shoes? When planning your wedding did you buy a gorgeous knock out dress and book a beautiful photographer? I did. And I would again. We invest so much money in life’s important events, to help us celebrate important milestones; and preparing for birth is just the same. The only difference is that many couples prepare by decorating the nursery and buying loads of unnecessary baby equipment, (that you will probably only use for the first few blurry months anyway).
Why not invest in birth preparation classes? Why not spend your time and money educating yourself on the process of birth, how your birthing body works and what you want your birth to look like?
Attending a hypnobirthing class was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It led me to have a beautiful birthing experience and changed my life forever - so much so that now I’m a fully trained hypnobirthing teacher myself.
What are hyponotherapy birthing classes like?
My classes are a full antenatal education combined with the beautiful techniques of hypnobirthing, to empower you to feel calm, controlled and comfortable as your labour progresses. My goal is to educate as many women as possible that giving birth does not have to be feared. You do not have to hand your body over to the medical professionals and you do not have to feel pain. Yes! You read correctly, giving birth does not need to be painful. The uterine and cervical muscles work like any other muscles in the human body, they work in tandem. If you fight against any muscle in your body, tense up and not allow it to work correctly it will hurt. It is exactly the same in labour. I can teach you how to allow your birthing muscles to work effectively and efficiently and I can teach you how to stay relaxed and confident throughout the whole process.
Ina May Gaskin once wrote ‘Whenever and however you intend to give birth, your experience will impact your emotions, your mind, your body and your spirit for the rest of your life’ if ever there was a more compelling reason to invest in yourself, invest in your birthing experience and invest in hypnobirthing then this is it.
